Dear pastors everywhere,
When people tell you that they are planning to leave your church because they have been through terrible difficulties and the entire leadership team essentially ignored them for several years while they brought their broken hearts to church every week, please don’t tell them that they would have been better taken care of if they’d had more friends at church. I promise you, they wanted friends at church. Your rebuke will just make them sad.
Also, don’t tell them that YOU had friends move away too, and you just got out there and made new friends. Practically everybody wants to be friends with the pastor and his wife, silly!
And that’s all I have to say ’bout that.
